Instrumental pieces had been puffing out of my head for a couple of years but a wise man on a mountain top intoned that the people of the valley preferred songs. And so it was during fog enshrouded evenings in St. John's that Suburban Blues emerged from the catacombs of my mind, long before Arcade Fire ever decided to write about the suburbs themselves. My archives spit out dates in early 2006, but I suspect it predated even those misty times. Blessed with less than a stellar voice, I drew inspiration from Buck 65 and Tom Waits and thought maybe I could slice open that vein and see what I bled. This piece of commentary on the nature of suburban life circa the new millennium pooled before me and congealed into what you now hear.
