lyrics

I'm on the top of Olympus Mons, mon.
The highest mountain in the solar system
Boom Bap beat that

The crew call me reckless, crazy
Who climbs a 21 km high mountain when one tiny little mistake can end it all?
When an entire planet is already out to kill you I have to admit, from the outside looking in, it's suicidal. So why do it? Cause it's there, begging to be climbed.

Sure it's crazy. I'm crazy. We're all crazy. I mean, we spent 7 months sailing the airless void to get here from Earth, where one tiny little mistake can end it all. Sound familiar? Who does that?

No matter what the psyche evaluations claim, not a regular, normal, sane persons. That's for damn sure.

But even amongst the strangest of the strange, I admit I'm the strangest of all.

The call me The Martian. Apparently it was an old movie. Something about science the shit, or science is the shit. Something like that.

Really, I feel like the king of Mars right now. What a view. Whoo. All that red. Same stuff that makes our blood red. It's like an entire planet of rust. We know it's iron oxide, but we don't actually know how all that iron got oxided – that's a scientific term. Not enough oxygen in the atmosphere these days to rust a nail. Mysteries to be studied and solved, but conquering Olympus Mons couldn't wait. It's a volcano after all – could blow anytime. Or never. Got to figure out if ol Mons still have lava bubbling in its heart. More mysteries of Mars.

Well, I best get going or I'll turn to rust myself. It's a 21 km hike back to the rover and it's not like I can sit and have a picnic here.
